How to make a strong password

Your password is the key to your digital life. If a hacker guesses it, they have access to everything. Don't make it easy for them!

The Rules for a Good Password

  • Length: Use at least 12 characters. Longer is always better.
  • Complexity: Mix Capital letters (A, B), numbers (1, 2), and symbols (!, @, #).
  • Uniqueness: NEVER use the same password for two different sites. If one site is hacked, all your accounts are at risk.
  • Avoid: Names of pets, birthdays, "123456", or the word "password".

Use a Password Manager

It is impossible to remember 50 different complex passwords. Humans are bad at this.

The Solution: Use a Password Manager app like Bitwarden, LastPass, or Google Password Manager.

They generate strong random passwords for you and save them. You only need to remember one "Master Password".

What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

2FA adds a second lock to your door. Even if a thief steals your key (password), they still can't get in without the second key.

This second key is usually a code sent to your phone via SMS or an app like Google Authenticator.

Recommendation: Turn on 2FA for your Email, Banking, and Social Media immediately.
